My new favorite Jasmine fragrance - RIP to A La Nuit. La Religieuse has passed Fleurs D'Orangier to be my official summer night scent, idyllic for warm (not hot) weather. This is probably the best floral that Serge Lutens has going right now. It's a filmy, angelic white jasmine laden with a musk-toned incense to make it reminiscent of Sunday mass, yet prettier. Flat, round and balanced, with a clean feeling. The civet is barely detectable, so don't be alarmed by that note listed. This is the opposing sister of sultry, murky jasmines meant for seduction. Gothic fragrance lovers will appreciate this. If you like the original Anna Sui in the black bottle or Nosferatu by Heretic, you'll value and appreciate what they're doing with LA Religeuse. Ironically, a perfect scent to wear to church, synagogue or mosque. It just evokes that feeling. Men can also pull this off well.

Very beautiful scent. Light and gentle. On me, I’d say it’s heavy on the jasmine for about an hour and then it settles into a slightly floral second skin scent. Not as much incense as I would like, but still very pretty, I’ll get a lot of wear out of this, might become my daily scent due to how pretty yet delicate it is.
