Customer Reviews

First off, Pearlescent Black is not an eau de parfum. This perfume is a concentrated perfume oil, 30 mls worth to be exact which is a lot of oil that will last you for a decade. The bottle is tiny. It’s about the size of a ping pong ball that sits on a golden tripod with 3 little rubber pads for the bottle to rest on top of. Unfortunately the one that I received from Fragrancenet apparently banged around in the box for the whole trip over here to the States because it’s quite scratched up on the bottom. And the bottom of the presentation box fell apart right after I had removed the cellophane, so now there’s 2 bottom parts that come apart as soon as I move or pick up the box. But it’s a very cool bottle and presentation so I’m not upset about it. Now, if you’ve smelled Al Haramain’s Hayati, or Ajmal’s long discontinued Misk Al Oudh, then you’ve smelled Pearlescent Black. This perfume is white musk and oud, that’s about it. The oud is so nice and comforting too, and the musk is really smooth. This creation is without a doubt masculine. Smelled up close it’s harsh, however, the sillage is where the fun is at. Very strong so a little tiny bit goes a long way. Lasting power is eternal. Interestingly, my bottle was produced in February of 2020, and if memory serves me correctly, Pearlescent Black was launched in 2017 as a duty free exclusive.
