By the Fireplace is a woody and interesting fragrance for women and men from the house of Maison Martin Margiela. The intriguing scent is created by Marie Salamagne and was launched in 2015. At the start of this charming scent are notes from orange blossom, pink pepper and clove. The notes of guaiac wood, juniper and chestnut is enthralling at the heart, while the base is filled with notes from peru balsam, cashmeran and vanilla.

I LOVE this fragrance! It opens EXACTLY like a campfire and then as it ages on the skin and clothes it becomes really pleasantly sweet, it’s got an interesting chestnut thing going on at first which becomes more like marshmallow over time. On skin it lasts probably 6-8 hours but on clothes it’ll last for multiple days. I see this as truly unisex being welcoming and nice on anyone, man OR woman, all time fave at the moment.

This is the ultimate cozy, warm fragrance that literally smells like a crackling fire on a cold night. It’s rich, nostalgic, and perfect for fall/winter or cozy nights in. Definitely a standout scent that wraps you like a blanket

I absolutely love this fragrance. I got the tester over a year ago and finally bought the full size last fall. Let me just say YUM! I get so many compliments on it. The warm smoky vanilla and spicy notes are just fantastic. I love the outdoors and fall and this scent just brings it home for me! I sometimes wear it with my other go to scent, Burberry Britt, they compliment eachother so well. It's such an all-around wonderful scent my husband and young adult children will sometimes wear it as well. I will continue to regularly purchase this.
