L'Instant by Guerlain: I adore Oriental frangrances and Guerlain makes the best! Shalimar my signature high school until college when I took a detour with Norell followed by 25 years with Clinique's Aromatics but one whiff of L'Instant and I was hooked. Subtle enough for work it gives a lift every time I spray it on. Tons of compliments! Very special scent.

Just purchases this fragrance via reviews on this site and basenotes. was looking for a distinct and utterly masculine scent that is not worn by most men. the top notes are certainly bergamot/citrus, but the middle note and base notes are what captured me. I love the cocoa and powdery scents that waft up over time. I needed to wear this a couple of times to get the complex "flavors" that present themselves. I am a fragrance novice. I only own this, Eau D'Cologne Imperiale, Concentre' de Orange' Vert, john varvatos and obsession. my girlfriend loves the Varvatos and I have not yet worn this for her yet. I am sure she will love it....highly recommended for a mature male who is seeking to stand out from the normal fragrance crowd...

Review of L'instant De Guerlain
L'instant de Guerlain is classy. When you smell this, you know that this person has some class. When I say that, I mean in an elegant way. It smells elegant to me. I lasts on my skin only for a few hours, so I am clueless about reviews that say that it lasts 8 hours. I usually am a 2-3 sprayer kind of guy. One to the neck and chest and occasionally a third spray to the back of the neck. If you want to smell good all day, meaning 8 hours, you better carry it in your jacket pocket or somewhere because it WILL wear off. Or at least it does for me. That makes it a short acting frag for me. SO it's uses, I would therefore consider it not to be an all day'er unless you want to carry it with you for when it wears off.

L'Instant by Guerlain is the best fragrance ever. I purchased my first bottle when in Mexico on vacation and I have never regretted it. I even get compliments on it when I'm at Lowe's Hardware store shopping by the older employees who want to know it's name, so they can order it for their wives. I've never gotten a headache from wearing it. Please don't stop making it.

Gorgeous floral powder. Intense POWDER frag... Reminds me of a very elegant, elder woman, well - dressed, perfectly coiffed, pampered & primped to exquisite perfection. Lovely. Too much potent powder scent for me to wear. But I'd enjoy being near someone else wearing it- I think it would be just lovely on anyone who enjoys a beautiful, floral powder fragrance. The initial top notes quickly give way to a very strong, long lasting powder fragrance w/ great sillage. Gorgeous Guerlain floral, just underneath the powder.
