Beautiful. JUST beautiful~ you can smell the past in this fragrance. Elizabeth Taylor wore this during the filming of Cleopatra in 1963 and she’s the one that introduced Michael to this scent even. It smells perfect for both men and women. But when I close my eyes and smell this fragrance; I see Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra~ in her famous gold dress entering Rome on that massive Sphinx float.- It’s a time capsule in a bottle that most should get to experience at least once. Smelling the past helps us learn from it.

They don’t disclose even close to all of the notes and accords but believe me when I say this is an extremely complex fragrance and one that is super beast mode in this EDT concentration. I love, love love beast mode performance in a fragrance but though this comes in an EDP that ones just far too strong for any human being no matter how little you wear. The edt version here is super strong as well and recommend you dot each wrist and call it DONE for the evening or you’ll end up going nose blind pretty quickly after application as well as choking out yourself and those who happen to be in the same zip code as you. This fragrance is quite vintage and definitely smells that way but it is really beautiful and timeless! However this fragrance does take a good bit of experience to really appreciate and enjoy. Definitely for those with both an experienced nose and 30-35 years old and above. It is a level 4-5 ANIMOLIC musk. Level 1 being the least and 5 being the most. Probably most accurate to gauge it closer to a 5 than 4. Obviously you not only need to be experienced and really like a musk fragrance but also an animatic type of musk that many find challenging. This is best described as a very sensual scent and it is also perfectly unisex with absolutely no lean towards the masculine or feminine. It is right down the center in this regard. It is an evening, dress up sorta almost formal fragrance. Of course it’s fine for less formal wear but it does shine in this use. I don’t think this is an appropriate office fragrance due to strength nor would I wear this during warm weather. It’s just too much. I’ve read the reviews and a lot of people really like even love this perfume but I still think it’s best to obtain a 10ml decant before buying a full bottle. I think it is too strong, too musky especially type of musky, too complex for anyone not with enough age and experience with perfumes in general and specifically with the areas I mentioned to be a safe blind buy. It is a very good perfume and I really like it and definitely earns 5 stars from me so I don’t really want to scare anyone off that’s interested. I just know that it’s a very polarizing scent falling into the love it or hate it category. That said it’s not expensive for what it is! It is a very well crafted scent, very smooth, with notes and accords seamlessly blending into one another without trying to grab the stage from each other. However the notes are fairly strong so as they melt through and shine they will keep you entranced and engaged for sure. None of the notes and accords are shy retiring ones though. You’ll pick up on all so important to like most and be able to adjust to ones that may not be a strong love for you. Otherwise you’ll struggle a bit. However if you’ve the experience to try this and love complex, interesting, different fragrances you’ve found a real gem here. One other thing. You won’t smell like anyone else! Though this fragrance has been around since 1962, and a very good seller, it’s highly unlikely anyone will know it or smelled it before. It seems to morph with your own body chemistry changing quite a lot from one person to the next. Unless you run into a perfume expert who has experience with this scent and significant experience at that, no one will identify it but be prepared for many questions asking what you’re wearing and the compliments that will pour in if you wear it with confidence and style. This does still have a vintage dna though so you also want to be good with that as well. You will definitely smell sophisticated and uber rich regardless of what you spent on your outfit, hair, etc… If you don’t want to be noticed I don’t recommend this fragrance for you because noticed you will be and you just cannot hide wearing this. I’m hoping they make this at least as long as it’s been in the past. To be honest I think it is really too good to be discontinued! It has passed the age now of being relevant still for over 60 years. That’s a great testament to something quite wonderfully well made in an age where so much is a flash in the pan and fragrances very much so. Buy it and if you can check off the boxes I mentioned, and cautions, you’ve found a true masterpiece! Btw, just some trivia here. This was Micheal Jackson’s signature scent and also was quite loved by Elizabeth Taylor! Both individuals with very good taste so you’ll be in great company!
