Charlie Blue Perfume

I have had a small vintage bottle of Charlie in the past. Many have commented that it does not smell the same, and it is likely due to IFRA ( International Fragrance Association) changes. Some ingredients are no longer permitted due to safety or allergen content. It may also be that the cost of the original ingredients was too high to maintain the "Drugstore Price". I think overall it does smell the same, perhaps not as strong. It is supposed to be mossy, woody and floral. At first spray on my skin, the "mossy" is chemical, but the floral and woods are just fine. It is currently warm weather, and I think this will perform better in cooler weather. After a few minutes and on clothing, it smells MUCH better!! I think for the pricepoint and the nostalgia, this is a properly enjoyable fragrance! It is cozy and warm, and reminds me of the 1970's :)

I have been using Charlie Cologne since I was in high school (62 years) and will continue as long as it is available. People comment me all the time about how I smell and inquire as to what I am wearing. I will say it is one of those scents that don't smell the same on all people but I happen to be one of the fortunate ones that can wear it daily. It is my favorite by far. Monica A.
