CEYLON is transportive. It's like living in an Indiana Jones movie. Exotic, nuanced, evolving as well as involving, CEYLON makes a statement. The scent-bubble, sillage and longevity are other-worldly. With its honey and vanilla notes, this easily could have wandered into being a cloying overly sweet gourmand. It avoids that trap adroitly. The opening will prove too much for a good many Western noses, as it isn't so shy as to hide its aoud heart. But there is a concerto of other notes interwoven as the drydown progresses. With jasmine, patchouli and lavender, to Madagascar vanilla and the ever-present and luscious black tea, what results reaches the pinnacle of the perfumer's art. Not for the faint of heart, but fragrance DOES NOT GET BETTER THAN THIS.

This fragrance is next level, it packs a punch. I didn't think I was going to like this as I am not a big fan of Oud, but I love it., When initially applied, the Oud comes through strong (it is an Oud Star after all!) but it then dries down to a stunning gourmand fragrance. It is not cloying or sweet though like some gourmands can be. The amber and musk balance it nicely. Fragrance disappears on me very easily but I can still smell this one hours after applying it. The packaging is stunning and definitely compliments the luxury of this fragrance. If you like La Capitale, you will most likely like this one too.
