Halston is a big, loud, thick disco fragrance that my mother used to wear all the time. It gives me a lot of comfort. Nothing shy about it. Very much a seventies chypre, mixing some woods with florals. There is fruit and carnation, but I don't pick up on it very well. I smell the marigold and green leaves, plus that earthy oakmoss, which means there are masculine and even unisex powers in this fragrance. So not everyone is going to like Halston. Don't expect any sweetness or modern twists. I like this for fall in the day time, any setting

The smell takes me back to my youthful years with such a special scent always got compliments what perfume are you wearing?Smells great ,fresh not strong but just a subtle scent .

This one is a throwback. Absolute patchouli bomb, only for those very familiar with chypres. Right for the price

Thank goodness for dry down and time. This fragrance screeched at me upon first spray, I swear I heard and smelled that screech! Geesh, I thought, how can this have so many positive reviews? How can this be from the house of Halston??? Sprayed on top of my hand and sniffed after 5 minutes and thought, screechy, artificial, spice, mess. Went about my business and sniffed again after 45 min. Pleasantly surprised at the pleasant spicy scent (I'm not getting any peach and cedarwood isn't cedar-y). It's been over an hour now and this is a pleasant, mildly spicey skin scent that's really quite nice. Don't mind smelling like this. Not my favorite, not a reorder for me, but will use it as an overnight scent and enjoy it.
