Over a successful movie career that has spanned several decades and continents, Spanish-born actor Antonio Banderas has become an international symbol of romantic charm and sexy good looks. In the 1980s he worked frequently with director Pedro Almodóvar in films like Matador and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. He then crossed over into English-language movies, gaining a role in The Mambo Kings in 1992. Throughout the 1990s he starred in major motion pictures including Philadelphia (with Tom Hanks), Interview with the Vampire (with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt) and Evita (with Madonna). More recently, he has voiced characters in the animated hit Shrek and its sequels. Banderas was married to fellow movie star Melanie Griffith for eighteen years. A fragrance line in Banderas’s name was introduced in the late 1990s, and its releases continue to win fans. Many of them have names and themes that play on Banderas’s sensual appeal. Best-sellers for men include Antonio for Men and Mediterráneo. Just a few of the fragrances available in women’s versions as well as men’s versions are Spirit/Spirit for Women, The Secret/Her Secret, and Blue Seduction for both sexes.
