Jaguar Cologne

The name Jaguar most likely brings images of sleek, luxury cars to your mind. Yet, the continuously evolving car manufacturing company is also a prominent player in the equally competitive men's and women's fragrance realm.

Founded by Sir William Lyons in 1922 as a motorcycle sidecar manufacturer, the original name of the company was Swallow Sidecar Company. After WWII, the company streamlined its operations into the luxury car arena, merged with the British Motor Corporation, and eventually changed its name to Jaguar Cars Ltd. In 1984, the company was listed on the London Stock Exchange until its acquisition by the Ford Motor Company in 1989.

In 1988, the company released its first fragrance, Jaguar for men. Boasting an enticing mix of more than 15 scent notes, including Mandarin orange, jasmine, cinnamon, tobacco and vanilla, the scent is still worn by sophisticated men who appreciate its bold, multifaceted bouquet.

The company released Miss Jaguar in 1993, a floral fragrance that is celebrated for its airy, aquatic scent note combination. Other notable fragrance offerings from Jaguar include the 1998 flowery Essentially Jaguar women's fragrance, and the citrusy, spicy 2002 Jaguar men's fragrance. At the time of this writing, Jaguar offers more than 20 men's and women's fragrances.

Still a major contender in the world of luxury cars, Jaguar achieved notable success under the Ford family of cars with its S-Type model in 1999 and its R-Type model in 2001. The company is now owned by Tata Motors of India.
